SUMMARY:2023 Ticket to Ride Tournament
DESCRIPTION:All aboard for an evening of friendly competition with the 2023 Ticket to Ride Tournament!\nTicket to Ride is an elegantly simple game that is loads of fun for the whole family.  Gameplay is simple and can be learned in under 15 minutes. Players collect cards of various types of train cars they then use to claim railway routes in North America. The longer the routes\, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who fulfill Destination Tickets – goal cards that connect distant cities; and to the player who builds the longest continuous route. \nThis will be a Round Robin Tournament where every player will play an equal amount of games and accumulating points dependent on placement. The winner will be the player whom ends on top in the finals and will get their name on the Golden Train Trophy. \nPrizes will be awarded for the winner of the evening. \nAdmission is $10 for entry to the event so grab your ticket and don’t miss the train before it leaves the station.

DESCRIPTION:Get ready for some high-flying action with Tabletop Underground at Commongrounds Cooperative.  It’s time for the 2023 Wingspan Tournament.\nWingspan is a competitive\, medium-weight\, card-driven\, engine-building board game from Stonemaier Games. It’s designed by Elizabeth Hargrave and features over 170 birds illustrated by Beth Sobel\, Natalia Rojas\, and Ana Maria Martinez. \nThis will be a Round Robin Tournament (pun intended) where every player will play an equal amount of games and accumulating points dependent on placement. The winner will be the player to accumulate the most tournament points throughout the competition. \nThe Wingspan Champion will receive their name on the Queen/King Crow Trophy along with many other prizes. \nAdmission is $10 for the evening.

The random mix creates a different board virtually every game.  No two games are the same!” \nCatan (aka The Settlers of Catan) has been awarded with “Game of the Year\,” “Hall of Fame\,” and even “Game of the Century” honors in Germany\, the USA\, and a host of other countries worldwide. Now bring your love of this classic game to Tabletop Underground for the tournament to end the year. \nThis will be a Round Robin Tournament where every player will play an equal amount of games and accumulating points dependent on placement. The winner will be the player whom ends on top in the finals and will claim the Catan Champion Trophy. \nAdmission is $10 per player entry.

GM Kris (the guy who’s always running those Not-Quite-Dungeons-and-Dragons games) will be joining forces with local podcasting legend\, storytelling master\, and gaming aficionado\, GM Steve of Errant Adventures Podcast\, to introduce you all to the fantastic Starforged RPG by Shawn Tomkin. \nWhat makes Starforged special? Why should you care? This is an exquisitely crafted\, narrative focused game that is designed to be prep-less and even GM-less! You didn’t misread that: you can play RPGs without spending hours meticulously balancing encounters and creating stat-blocks. You can even play without a GM! There are always more players looking for a game than there are GMs willing to run one\, but with Starforged (and the ENNIE award winning\, low-fantasy precursor game: Ironsworn)\, you don’t need to let that stop the fun! \nCharacter creation will be done at the beginning of the session by selecting from a set of archetypes. We’ll also take an abbreviated look at the world-building mechanics to set our opening scene. Then we’ll launch into a custom adventure\, which we’ll create on the fly using the generative story-telling mechanics of Starforged.
